Coming of Age

In June 1958, The Crown Prince came of age(18). A ceremony was held in the Trophy Room of the Parliamentary building. It was at this occasion where Constantine pledged an oath of allegiance to the King and accepted his commission as an officer.

In 1960 Constantine scored a victory for Greece by sailing his way to a Gold Medal, the first to be won by any Greek sportsman in almost 50 years and only the second Gold medal to be bought home to Greece since the games were revived in 1896. After Olav of Norway, Constantine was the only Prince to have won an event at a modern Olympic Games.
